The Science Group of Performance BIB examines a wide range of subjects with the aim of:
  • Quantifying the impact of the primary parameters that determine BIB wine shelf-life, including the type of wine, amounts of SO2, microbiological stability, headspace and dissolved oxygen, gas barrier of the initial package, logistics damage to the package and storage temperatures.
  • Standardizing technical specifications and test methods for BIB packaging and wine.
  • Estimating the environmental impact of BIB and other package systems.
  • Making recommendations for improvement.
  • Supplying scientific and technical information to the Education Group so as to communicate its findings to a wider audience.
